I couldn't help myself. When I found this I had to do a quick post. It is too good. For those who enjoy rap music and needlepoint, your life is now complete. Your welcome.

Hot for Teacher
or teacher's lounge. I used to be a teacher. I might be again someday. This is what all teachers's lounges look like. (BTW teachers never lounge)
This is the same space after this guy did a makeover.

after. I found it here. Be nice to a teacher today.

Everything around her was a silver pool of light
Today I lost another influential woman in life to cancer. Two years ago it was my close friend Jen. I was at her bedside when she left us. Today it was Barb, my first boss out of grad school, in the real world. She was a mentor and a friend. She found me a place to live when I was homeless.
Barb and Jen had some remarkable similarities. They had envious careers. They were unlucky in love and childless. Coincidence? I'm not sure. They had legions of friends who loved them fiercely. They traveled for pleasure extensively and were passionate about their hobbies. For Barb it was golf, for Jen it was cooking and gardening.
They were sarcastic in the best way.
They didn't know each other but they both had tremendous influence in my life.
They left me too early.

I can imagine
myself traveling the world someday and ending up at a place like this for a few months.
Eating, drinking, shopping, soaking up some culture, blogging, and....

More Confliction in my Heart
Is confliction a word? Should it be conflict instead? Why am I so confused these days?
I think I need more sleep. I could happily sleep here.
Or here. I could just sleep and sleep I think for days.

Change of Heart
Fall to me always signaled the start of the football season. I am/was a huge fan. But lately my heart has been changing. My Vikes are 0-2 and yesterday I watched a kid shear his tibia in two, playing football. I'm starting to like this better.

I am crazy about you
Peter Frank and your inky blue room from this month's House Beautiful, which I can't find anywhere online. I also dig your super groovy bedroom where you artfully mix patterns to look bohemian and collected not like the granny trash on the cover. Nothing against grannies, I love mine, and her house looks way better than that.

I miss you already
I was ready to welcome fall and it's cooler weather and routine schedule.
But a week of cold rain and nonstop activity has left me exhausted and missing summer already.
If I could cuddle up with a huge warm blanket, an outdoor fire, a good book and a cup of hot cocoa I would be healed. Hope you have a relaxing weekend. Think of me. I gotta work.

But I can't have you. Especially you $450 over the knee camel boots. Sigh.

Speechless
How can someone take all these beautiful fabrics and mix them in a way that looks granny and not "granny chic" and then make the cover of House Beautiful? I think it's fugly. Disagree? Tell me why.

Winner! and I love this
The winner of my CSN giveaway is Domestic Diva. Congrats, $40 at CSN stores, tell me how you spend it. Unless you buy shoes there. They have ugly shoes. Oops, now I'm probably not a preferred blogger anymore. This is Rafael Nadal. He is 24. Criminal.
Also, I love this look by AIKO. For Sunday brunch in the city with the girls, that turns into all day sipping champagne and laughing.
