Silver Lining: An update

If you are a follower you know that the mister was laid off a few weeks ago and we got a new puppy around Valentines Day.  We have plenty to keep the mister busy two kids, puppy training, many unfinished home projects, looking for another job.... and I wanted to show you some of the progress he has made.    This is an ugly, unfunctional closet in our main hallway.

And here it is after he added some cheap wallpaper I bought off ebay.

Now I have a place to keep my shopping bags, dog carrier, and miscellaneous crap.  It would have been nice to get a pretty new closet organizer from the Container Store, but see above (the mister got laid off).

And here is a picture of said puppy who has doubled in size in the month since we adopted him from the rescue organization.  He was 2 pounds and now is 4. Sorry for the crotch shot!

Avoid brain tumors

Lately, I have been nostalgic for a phone like these in my kitchen.  Mounted on the wall with a long dangly cord that gets twisted up.  The kind where you get to/have to be surprised by who is on the other end.  Remember when prank phone calls were hours of fun?  I don't even have a landline anymore, but Dr. Oz says I should; to avoid brain tumors in my children, they are not supposed to use a cell phone.  So they either don't call Grandma and Papa or I hit ebay and call Ma Bell.  My Grandparents used to have a black one, it was really heavy and loud, I wonder if they still do...

Did you see these in your DailyCandy?  I think it would be great in a kids' room or even in a bachelor pad. They were from the same place that makes the Gummi Bear Chandelier.  You heard me, they make a chandelier out of (fake) Gummi Bears.  These people are delightfully juvenile.
